I feel like it has been a while since we got a typhoon signal 8 that coincided with an early dismissal from work at around 4 pm. But this is exactly what happened on Thursday. I do like these days.
It turns out the masking tape on the windows and the sandbags were vastly unnecessary, as Linfa barely made her presence known on the north side of Hong Kong Island. As the South China Morning Post reported it, it turned out to be "a storm in a teacup".
