So, not sure what was happening on our street two weeks ago (October 16 to be precise) but not only did we have a very disturbing incident (attempted break in of a unit below us), then at night we saw tons of flashing lights, police and firemen.
My mind raced from bomb threat to fire to gas leak to imminent explosions but the whole situation seemed relatively calm and ordinary, if such a scene can be calm and ordinary. The building across the street was being evacuated and clearly it was taking a while because people were being roused out of bed.
When I went to bed, there was still a whole bunch of people sitting in the dark in the park next to my building. The next morning everything was back to normal. Weird right?
