The banh mi sandwich doesn't look like much, especially if you don't peel back its toasted, crusty exterior to reveal its cilantro-studded, sweet-and-sour, cucumber crunchy depths, but it sure tastes amazing. If a perfect sandwich is about the proper proportion of flavor and texture, the banh mi is it.
Don't judge a sandwich by its cover.
