Visitors! AIA Wheel, Disney and Tung Chung

Last weekend we had our visitors (other than my parents) in Hong Kong for the first time in so, so long!
Bebe and Bobo and my cousins and dajiu and dajiuma, whom we just met up with in Taiwan over Chinese New Year, were here for a whirlwind long weekend!  They landed Thursday afternoon. Our driver went to pick them up in our people mover (it comes in handy!) and they checked into their hotel rooms at Disneyland Explorer's Lodge.
Then we met up with them at the AIA wheel in Central, but before they showed up our kids enjoyed the waterfront, the exhibits at AIA Vitality Park and the carousel:
The kids all had a measure.  The boys just hit the 100 cm mark and the attendants agreed to let them on independently.  They sat in a row and it was very cute.  Separately, the fascination with rainbows continue.
We did manage to squeeze in a ride on the cable car, which was great.  The boys loved being able to see their cousins in the next car.  The view as usual was so nice, despite it being a bit overcast.  As my cousin said,  "Hong Kong is just so pretty. "
Then we took everyone to dinner at the American Club Town Club, and showed the kids and my cousins and my jiujiu and jiuma the view. Al impressed my jiujiu with his love of numbers, counting up to 100 and reading out all the numbers (prices) in the menu.
We ended the night with ice cream and popcorn.

On Friday, the boys went to school as usual, then went to a friend's birthday party across the street.  They had candy and goodie bags, and, having chocolate cake and all the goodies, were understandably reluctant to return home.
Lola luckily didn't have school so spent the entire day at Disneyland with her cousins. In the morning she even had a chance to hang out with her classmate at Disney at the same time also.
I managed to pop out and join them for a bit in the afternoon and we watched Philharmagic and the parade together.  I booked them a buffet dinner so they could watch the Momentous show at night as VIP members.  Lola didn't get to bed until 10 pm, poor thing!
Saturday morning dawned bright and early given how late the kids had been up the day before.  We again headed out to Disney, first hitting up the jungle cruise, then Slinky the Dog (the boys' first roller coaster ride!) and then the spinning teacups and it's a small world.
During lunch it poured so we left Disney and went to Tung Chung, where we did buy 3 pairs of shoes,  but we quickly gave up as the weather was terrible and the cable car stop and start.
We returned to the Explorer's Lodge at Disneyland (we squeezed 13 people into our people mover - it worked out well because our driver had to go home anyway, so that freed up a previous seat for Michael haha). The kids loved playing together, the adults loved having a place to rest, and the grounds were beautiful.
We had a surprisingly tasty meal at the Chinese restaurant there, then the kids ended the night with (what else) ice cream!
All too soon it was time to say goodbye to our relatives, who left bright and early for the airport the next day.
