Vietnamese at La Taste

My dinner last night.
Sometimes all you want is a bowl of comfort.  The broth in a piping hot paired with silky noodles, delicately sliced beef and fragrant holy basil just cannot be beat.  The pho at La Taste is obviously not as good as the pho in Vietnam, but it's pretty close.  Plus I just wasn't in the mood to be picky.  Their broth is the perfect savory blend of richness and depth.  There is anise flavor but it's light and subtle.

Given the incessant gray, cold, cloudy, overcast weather we've been dealing with in Hong Kong as of late, I couldn't help but sigh in contentment as I sipped (oh fine, slurped) down my noodles and soup.
