Today is Michael's birthday.
Lola is so sweet and thoughtful, at such a young age she already has VERY clear ideas about what she wants to gift people. And I have to say, her thoughts are really spot on. She was devastated on my birthday because no one helped her buy a "really beautiful" dress for me that had flowers and ribbons on it. This time around, she was adamant that she wanted her dad to have a gold watch. Of course I did the preliminary culling and offered her a few choices, and let her pick from there. She was really sure about the gold though. Just to make sure, I tried to offer her a choice in navy blue in direct contravention to what she stipulated - and she made it clear that wasn't even in contention. Ultimately I think we did good.
We also got Michael a pair of navy blue pants from Lululemon. The boys helped him open the present.
And Michael's mom/family got him a nice gift card to the Mandarin Oriental barber, his favorite barber shop.
We made it really beautiful with a silver birthday balloon banner and confetti and colored balloons.
The kids were super excited because they know to love Fridays generally (movie night! Weekend!) and a birthday with the promise of chocolate cake is even better.
