Ohio - Visiting Madison Veterinary Hospital and Nona's House

On Wednesday, we took the kids to visit Uncle Tom at his veterinary hospital in Madison. We still remember when he opened his practice in 2015 and every one chipped in to help.  It was really nice to finally have the chance to see it, and also see how well his practice is doing.
Then we went to Lake Erie, goofed around and enjoyed the breeze.
Then we drove to Michael's childhood home, which has been put on the market for sale. It was weird to see it mostly empty, though some dishware and paintings still sit on the shelves and hang on the walls.  The kids got a huge kick out of the open grate between the upstairs hallways and downstairs dining room.  A quiet house this was not.
The outdoors provided a lot of wholesome entertainment. The kids found the blackberry bush, spotted wild mushrooms, and picked blueberries as well as crab apples. We found the pear tree but couldn't reach its fruits.
Then we saw the neighbors and they invited us over to pick their blueberries and take a ride on their big tree swings. Their blueberries were unreal.
The boys love the kitty kat. I am not sure she feels the same.  There was twister, cards against humanity family edition, shuffle board, karaoke, dance party, and watching the US Women's World Cup.

Ohio - Lake Metroparks Farmpark and King Kone

Continuing where we left off, after Emma's birthday celebration we started Tuesday with more pool and cousin and family time, and in the afternoon, a trip out to Farm Park (Lake Metropark) to see tractors, milk cows and learn about animals and gardening.
Lola milked a cow named Lola.  We wore white sandals. We saw cows, chickens, sheep, rabbits, ponies, horses, alpacas...a model train on a nice track.
We splash and rock pooled and did some sliding.
There was apple picking and garden vegetable sighting, a lecture on bees and very enthusiastic plant watering.
I marveled at the wide green open landscape.
The kids enjoyed the playground and tractors.
After dinner, the kids got to visit a Chardon institution - King Kone!
