A Trip to Lamma Island

Today on a whim we went to Lamma Island.  I think the last time Michael and I went was probably 6 or 7 years ago.

The kids, aunties and I took a 9 am ferry to Lamma Island, specifically Yung Shue Wan.  We bumped into a very nice Filipino man who gifted us 3 huge papayas from his tree.  Then we hiked/ walked to Hung Shing Yeh Beach, but in that walk we were nearly bitten alive by mosquitoes.

The beach was stunning, the water absolutely beautiful. From there, we wandered back to Yung Shue Wan for a seafood lunch, before we took the 1 pm ferry back to Central.
Heading out:
Weather brightened considerably as soon as we set foot on Lamma Island.
By the time we got to the beach, it was fantastic.  We very much enjoyed the little wading pool there.
Lamma is very different than our usual scene!
By the time we were done with lunch and ice cream and heading to the pier, the weather looked to be turning and the sky had already darkened ominously.
Only 5 minutes into our ferry ride and we witnessed the rain slashing down.  It was the perfect and most fortuitous morning outing!  By the time we got home at 2pm I felt like we were already done with our day, we had accomplished so much!

The rest of the (very rainy and overcast) afternoon was spent showering, playing Monopoly, riding our scooters on the first floor, and chilling at home.
