Wednesday was particularly eventful because the boys got to go to American Club to play. After Sunday they had so much fun and their time was so short that I promised them they could go back. They were so excited that day they couldn't nap.
They must have flown down the slide 30, 40 times??
Lola went to taekwondo.
When she got back, I sat down to read with her (her last Level 6 book) which meant that when she was done, and after she ate dinner, she was able to open her Level 6 surprise... the LOL doll fashion playhouse!! We had promised her a surprise present once she finished this level, given how fast she has advanced in reading this year (honestly from reading very simple words and sentences in the spring to third or fourth grade level chapter books). The toy was a total hit, mainly because they're so smart and capitalized on the idea that the suspense in unwrapping a present is sometimes better than the present itself. Every little item is a surprise. The house is also very well designed.
Thursday was equally action packed, with Lola going on a school trip to Ocean Park to see the aquarium and learn about all kinds of cool fish and sea creatures. She touched a starfish.
After school, the boys again went to American Club, this time with Lola as well (she went for her weekly swimming lesson) and then they all went sliding again.
While they were doing this, I had a chance to pop into Central proper today to get a dress tailored and go get a bowl of my favorite sour and spicy noodles at Crazy Noodles. I forget when and how I originally found this tailor shop but I feel like I've been going to it forever. It is a cheap and cheerful treasure. There is also a great shoe cobbler and repairman right next door. I don't know how they all stay in business!
