This past Monday, it was *still* not time for Lola to go to school. I know, can you believe these international schools in Hong Kong...
We got a lot done on her last day of fall break though. We kicked off the day with a visit to the US embassy, to renew her passport. Whoa!! That's right, Lola is turning 5 soon and all her passports are expiring. Hard to believe how at times slowly and at times quickly these years (a half decade!) have passed.
It was a bit intimidating for her because to get into the embassy you have to undergo bag checks, metal detector wands and an airport like X ray screening, all things you never, ever have to do anywhere in Hong Kong (except maybe the airport). And we had to surrender our watches, telephones, dump out her water, etc. But she calmed down after we got in there and she stood between Michael and me as we swore and attested to the accuracy of her application and our statements.
After the embassy appointment she went with Michael to Matilda for him to pick up his medicine, then she went to American Club the Twon Club, then they went home.
In the afternoon, she went to GTA to play with a friend and eat dinner there. She also enjoyed an ice cream sundae. I think it was a really lovely end to a really lovely break!
