Lola has been living her best life and enjoying New York and Cleveland and the US so so much. The boys have been loving being in the US, but are probably not old enough to appreciate it as much as their older sis.
In Ohio, I have been getting sun, swimming every day, playing soccer with the kids, driving a huge car, picking blueberries, getting my own gas (sounds incredible but it's probably the first time I have done so in 20 years). We have so much family here and that has been the most beautiful and blessed thing. What an amazing experience for our kids that they have a built in family of 14 cousins, plus the dogs, cats, uncles, aunts, etc. and all the noise and hubbub that comes from it.
We are staying with Michael's younger brother Tommy and his wife Jen and their three kids and our kids could not be happier.
We arrived here on late late Friday night and our first few days have been full of family and family activities. At nearly 8 hours, it was the longest road trip the kids had taken, but they were fine (especially after they fell asleep, har har). I had forgotten how lovely and huge America is. There were so many moments when we were just driving on 80 that I gasped at the sunset and couldn't get over how gorgeous the landscape was. It took us 3 hours to get out of New York and New Jersey but then it was pretty smooth.
On Saturday, we hung out in the pool, then went to another brother's house (Joey and his wife Casey and their two kids) for dinner. The kids immediately bonded.
On Sunday, we had more pool time and the kids enjoyed an afternoon of sun and pool time.
On Monday, we helped celebrate Emma's birthday, then went to play putt putt together at Chip's, then enjoyed a bountiful dinner of crab legs, salad, roasted veggies, cheesy biscuits, baked potatoes and mac and cheese.
