I am so grateful that Hong Kong birds do not like strawberries. And there do not appear to be squirrels in this urban jungle. Because that means my cute little berries are safe.

This is the first time in my life that I have seen strawberries bloom and blossom on the vine in my own garden without being gobbled up by squirrels or birds.

In New York these berries would never reach this state of maturity unmolested.

I hope that they are sweet. I am going to let them sit on the vine a little while longer, so that they are truly sun-ripened. Exciting!
